Woodes, Magic

When I first heard Woodes upcoming record, “Kingdom Come” (out June 9th), one of the songs I loved the most was “Magic”.

For me, “Magic” captures two very different kinds of silence: the heavy, magnetic silence you feel when you know you’re falling in love with someone but you haven't said it yet, and the tired static you feel - years later - as you realise that that magic has started to seep away.

Magic takes you back to a place where you’re not afraid of falling in love because the pure feeling of the moment is greater than the pain you might feel when it ends. It transports you to a place in your heart where you want to love like you’ve never been hurt before.

The video for this beautiful song is my directional debut. I know I’m always talking about how much I love being at video shoots with Woodes, but I’m never exaggerating. It was such a lovely day under the guidance and expertise of Nick Mckk, and I’m forever grateful for Elle’s faith in me to represent her art.
